Professional Development

The Montessori Training Center of Minnesota provides on-going support to our graduates and the greater Montessori community through workshops, seminars, and the Mentorship program.

Half-day and full-day workshops are offered throughout the year covering Montessori theory as well as practical application of the principles of Montessori education, including current research and theory in the realm of child development. Click here for the 2010-2011 Workshop Calendar.

The Mentorship program is unique to the Montessori Training Center of Minnesota and offers graduates the opportunity for guidance in their first years as teachers, from seasoned teachers. This is an enriching program for both graduates and seasoned teachers. Trainees are also paired with a recent graduate for support and guidance during the academic course.

The Association Montessori Internationale (AMI) and the North American Montessori Teachers’ Association (NAMTA) also offer ongoing professional development opportunities throughout the year. Molly O’Shaughnessy presented the Primary Seminar at the AMI/USA Refresher Course, Observation: The Foundation of Genius.
