Alumni
The Montessori Training Center of Minnesota (MTCM) has over 600 alumni, and this number continues to grow. This spring alone, 75 individuals participated in graduation exercises for one of our three training programs: Assistants to Infancy, Primary and Elementary, and are looking forward to careers in Montessori education.
Mentorship
The Montessori Alumni Mentorship program of the MTCM is in its 13th year. This program serves to strengthen the viable and wonderful Montessori community we have here in the Twin Cities. Montessori Alumni Mentorship participants support each other by sharing their experience with one another, whether over coffee, via e-mail, a phone call or a visit to each others’ environments.
To facilitate this mutual mentorship, we also have scheduled quarterly meetings. The first Montessori Alumni Mentorship event for the 2009-2010 year was held on August 18th at the MTCM. Twenty-nine members of our local Montessori community, representing over 230 years of experience in Montessori environments, gathered to support one another and share their collective wisdom. For the first time, we also had alumni from all three levels of training: Assistants to Infancy, Primary, and Elementary. It was wonderful to have a representative sample of adults working with children across the first three planes of development.
