Graduate School Credit
Graduate school credit based on your work at the MTCM is available through Loyola College of Maryland. Students seeking admission to the degree program in Montessori Education should have completed a Bachelor degree from an accredited college or university with an overall GPA of 3.0 or above.
The Master of Education degree consists of 36 graduate credits plus a comprehensive oral examination (given at the MTCM) and two additional research papers done through Loyola College. The majority of the course work (27 credits) is completed at the MTCM, with the remaining course work (9 credits) done in the summer at Loyola College in Maryland.
Student loans are available through Loyola for course work done at MTCM as well as at Loyola College.
Undergraduate School Credit
Students of the primary training program who have not yet completed an undergraduate degree are invited to use their coursework at the MTCM toward a degree in child psychology. Undergraduate school credit based on your work at the MTCM is available through Metropolitan State University in St. Paul, Minnesota.
Students enrolled in the Montessori Training Center of Minnesota, who meet Metropolitan State University admissions requirements, may have competencies gained through the MTCM assessed for academic credit at Metropolitan State University. The Montessori competencies (27 credits) will be accepted toward the Metropolitan State University Psychology major with a focus in Montessori Primary Education.
The undergraduate program is not available for students of the Elementary training program.
